relative to insurance fraud.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2007-2008
  • Senate committee: Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection
  • Subject: Insurance
  • Chapter law: 37

The Story

The committee held a public hearing on February 20, 2007. The committee met in executive session on March 8, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 14–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0511h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 21, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On March 21, 2007 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It was introduced on March 29, 2007 and referred to the Senate Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 17, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 26, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 3, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 14, 2007, making it Chapter 37 of the session laws.
