The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0173h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 27, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On March 27, 2007 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on April 18, 2007 and was referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 1, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1413) was adopted on a voice vote on May 10, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On May 24, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 31, 2007 the House adopted “House Concurred with Senate AM #1413s, Rep Gile” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 27, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2367) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 20, 2007, making it Chapter 325 of the session laws.
