The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2007 and referred to the House Children and Family Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 20, 2007. The committee's amendment (0889h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 27, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On March 27, 2007 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on April 12, 2007 and was referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 8, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 31, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on June 7, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor.
