On February 9, 2006 the Senate adopted “Remove From Table” on a voice vote. A floor amendment (0843), offered by Sen. Odell, was adopted on a voice vote on February 9, 2006, changing the text of the bill. On February 9, 2006 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On February 9, 2006 the Senate voted to pass it. It crossed to the House on February 22, 2006 and was referred to the House Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 4, 2006. On April 19, 2006 the House adopted “Apr 27 deadline rprt bills in comm” on a voice vote. The committee voted 11–6 to recommend that the House pass it. On May 4, 2006 the House voted to pass it on a roll call 198–132. The bill was enrolled on May 15, 2006 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 22, 2006, making it Chapter 157 of the session laws. It took effect on May 22, 2006.
