- Status: Referred for interim study
- Term: 2005-2006
- House committee: Commerce
- Senate committee: Banks and Insurance
- Subject: Miscellaneous
The Story
It was introduced on January 27, 2005 and referred to the Senate Banks and Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2005. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 0637). The committee's amendment (0637) was adopted on a voice vote on March 24, 2005, changing the text of the bill. On March 24, 2005 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On March 24, 2005 the Senate voted to pass it. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Commerce committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on April 26, 2005. The committee held work sessions on May 12, 2005 and May 17, 2005. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on September 27, 2005 and November 3, 2005. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House study it after the session ends, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 5, 2006 the House voted to study it after the session ends. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “NOT REC FOR LEGIS”, by a vote of 17 to 0.
