HB 489-FN (2006)
relative to disclosing an ownership interest in certain health care facilities and businesses.
- Status: Killed
- Term: 2005-2006
- House committee: Criminal Justice and Public Safety
- Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
- Subject: Public and Mental Health
The Story
It was introduced on January 26, 2005 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on March 11, 2005. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on September 13, 2005, October 4, 2005 and October 24, 2005. The committee voted unanimously, 14–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 4, 2006 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on January 4, 2006 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 15, 2006. The committee recommended that the Senate kill it. On April 6, 2006 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
