It was introduced on January 26, 2005 and referred to the House Children and Family Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 16, 2005. The committee held a work session on March 29, 2005. On March 30, 2005 the House adopted “Susp Rules for Report & Action Deadlines” on a voice vote. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on September 20, 2005 and November 9, 2005. The committee voted 13–7 to recommend that the House kill it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On January 18, 2006 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
