relative to proceedings under the Child Protection Act.

  • Status: Died on the table
  • Term: 2005-2006
  • House committee: Children and Family Law
  • Senate committee: Health and Human Services
  • Subject: Children

The Story

It was introduced on January 26, 2005 and referred to the House Children and Family Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 16, 2005. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on June 30, 2005, September 29, 2005, October 27, 2005 and November 3, 2005. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 4, 2006 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on January 4, 2006 and was referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 21, 2006. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 1277). On March 16, 2006 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote.
