The Story
It was introduced on January 4, 2006 and referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 19, 2006. The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House kill it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 15, 2006 the House adopted “Without Objection Feb 22” on a voice vote. On February 22, 2006 the House adopted “March 7” on a voice vote. On March 7, 2006 the House voted to kill it on a division vote 218–88.
