HB 1337 (2006)

establishing the amusement ride safety advisory board.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2005-2006
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Occupational Regulation
  • Chapter law: 203

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2006 and referred to the House Commerce committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Executive Departments and Administration committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on January 26, 2006. The committee voted unanimously, 12–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1086h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 7, 2006 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 16, 2006 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2006. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 1804). The committee's amendment (1804) was adopted on a voice vote on April 20, 2006, changing the text of the bill. On April 20, 2006 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 3, 2006 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 3, 2006 the Senate voted to pass it. On May 11, 2006 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 24, 2006 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 31, 2006, making it Chapter 203 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 2007.
