The Story

It was introduced on February 10, 2005 and referred to the Senate Banks and Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 15, 2005. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 0636). The committee's amendment (0636) was adopted on a voice vote on March 24, 2005, changing the text of the bill. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On June 1, 2005 the House voted to pass it with changes. On June 9, 2005 the Senate adopted “Senator Flanders Concur with House Amendment” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 15, 2005 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2110) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage.
