The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 30, 2005 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on March 31, 2005 and was referred to the Senate Environment and Wildlife committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 26, 2005. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 26, 2005 the Senate adopted “Special Order To [ 06/02/05 ]”. On June 2, 2005 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 2, 2005 the Senate voted to pass it. The bill was enrolled on June 9, 2005 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 21, 2005, making it Chapter 172 of the session laws.
