The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 2004 and referred to the Senate Internal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 11, 2004. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 0796). The committee's amendment (0796) was adopted on a voice vote on March 17, 2004, changing the text of the bill. On March 17, 2004 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On March 17, 2004 the Senate voted to pass it. It crossed to the House on March 18, 2004 and was referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 13, 2004. On May 6, 2004 the Senate voted to reject the other chamber's changes, on a motion by Sen. Boyce. On May 13, 2004 the House adopted “House Acceded to req for Conf Comm” on a voice vote.
