The Story

On January 15, 2004 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the House Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 2004. The committee held work sessions on January 28, 2004, February 4, 2004 and February 12, 2004. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends by a vote of 18–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 17, 2004 the House voted to study it after the session ends. The committee held a work session on September 16, 2004. The committee met in executive session on October 20, 2004 to vote on its recommendation. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “REC FOR LEGIS IN 2005”, by a vote of 20 to 0.
