SB 39 (2002)
establishing the position of market conduct chief administrator in the insurance department.
- Status: Killed
- Term: 2001-2002
- House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
- Senate committee: Insurance
- Subject: Insurance
The Story
It was introduced on January 4, 2001 and referred to the Senate Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 14, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 1094). On May 9, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 22, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 13–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to kill it.
