SB 367 (2002)

relative to the guardian ad litem board.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: Children and Family Law
  • Senate committee: Judiciary
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 206

The Story

It was introduced on January 2, 2002 and referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 23, 2002. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2342). On February 14, 2002 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 14, 2002 and was referred to the House Children and Family Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 14, 2002. The committee held a work session on March 26, 2002. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 17, 2002 the House voted to pass it with changes. On April 25, 2002 the Senate adopted “Sen. Gordon Concur with House Amendment” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 2, 2002 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (3684) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on May 16, 2002, making it Chapter 206 of the session laws. It took effect on May 16, 2002.
