  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: Ways and Means
  • Senate committee: Ways and Means
  • Subject: Housing

The Story

It was introduced on March 15, 2001 and referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 4, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 0934). On April 19, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 1137). On May 9, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 23, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on October 18, 2001 and October 24, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 16–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to kill it.
