SB 16-FN-A (2002)
relative to state financial aid for state fairs, and making an appropriation therefor.
- Status: Referred for interim study
- Term: 2001-2002
- House committee: Finance
- Senate committee: Wildlife and Recreation
- Subject: Miscellaneous
The Story
It was introduced on January 4, 2001 and referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 18, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 1, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 7, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 9, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Environment and Agriculture committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Finance committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on May 22, 2001. The committee held a work session on May 29, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee met in executive session on October 25, 2001 to vote on its recommendation. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends unanimously, 20–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to study it after the session ends. The committee held work sessions on May 7, 2002, May 23, 2002 and June 5, 2002. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “NOT REC FOR LEGIS IN 2003”, by a vote of 17 to 1.
