relative to the collection of debts owed to the state.

  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: Ways and Means
  • Senate committee: Ways and Means
  • Subject: Miscellaneous

The Story

It was introduced on February 15, 2001 and referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 28, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 0927). On April 19, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 9, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 22, 2001. The committee held a work session on May 29, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on June 5, 2001 and October 2, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to kill it.
