SB 126 (2002)

relative to the use of certain credit data in underwriting certain insurance policies.

  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: Commerce
  • Senate committee: Insurance
  • Subject: Insurance

The Story

It was introduced on February 1, 2001 and referred to the Senate Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 21, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate kill it. On April 5, 2001 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote. On May 9, 2001 the Senate adopted “Sen. Gordon Motion To Remove From Table” on a voice vote. On May 9, 2001 the Senate adopted “Sen. Gordon sub-motion Ought to Pass” on a voice vote 16–6 and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 22, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held a work session on November 28, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to kill it.
