HCR 23 (2002)

urging Congress to abolish the Recreational Fee Demonstration Program on public lands including the White Mountain National Forest.

  • Status: Adopted by both chambers
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs
  • Senate committee: Wildlife and Recreation
  • Subject: State Government

The Story

It was introduced on June 26, 2001 and referred to the House State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 15, 2002. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it by a vote of 15–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on January 31, 2002. On January 31, 2002 the House adopted “Special Ordered to Feb 14” on a voice vote. On February 14, 2002 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on February 20, 2002 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 19, 2002. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 11, 2002 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote 23–0 and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on April 25, 2002 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (3582) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage.
