relative to municipal limitation of renewable energy systems.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2001-2002
- House committee: Municipal and County Government
- Senate committee: Public Affairs
- Subject: Zoning and Planning

The Story
It was introduced on February 15, 2001 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 12–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on January 2, 2002 and was referred to the Senate Public Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 26, 2002. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 10, 2002 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on April 17, 2002 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (3496) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on April 25, 2002 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 1, 2002, making it Chapter 73 of the session laws. It took effect on June 30, 2002.
