  • Term: 2001-2002

The Story

It was introduced on January 25, 2001 and referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 20, 2001. The committee held work sessions on March 19, 2001, April 2, 2001 and April 11, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held a work session on November 27, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to study it after the session ends. The committee held work sessions on July 10, 2002, October 1, 2002 and October 15, 2002. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “NOT REC FOR LEGIS IN 2003”, by a vote of 10 to 2.
