The Story
It was introduced on January 25, 2001 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 14, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on May 22, 2001 and November 13, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to kill it.
