HB 281-FN (2002)

establishing an independent administrative office of the courts.

  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: Judiciary
  • Subject: Courts and Procedure

The Story

It was introduced on January 25, 2001 and referred to the House Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 7, 2001. On March 22, 2001 the House adopted “Susp Rules for Deadline” on a voice vote. The committee held a work session on March 27, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on May 1, 2001, May 15, 2001, May 22, 2001, May 23, 2001, June 5, 2001 and October 25, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 17–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 2, 2002 the House voted to kill it.
