HB 1364-FN (2002)

requiring an accounting of dedicated funds in the budgetary process.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: Finance
  • Senate committee: Finance
  • Subject: State Government
  • Chapter law: 254

The Story

It was introduced on June 26, 2001 and referred to the House Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 9, 2002. The committee held work sessions on January 15, 2002, January 23, 2002 and January 30, 2002. The committee met in executive session on February 6, 2002 to vote on its recommendation. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 19–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 14, 2002 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 20, 2002 and was referred to the Senate Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 28, 2002. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 3240). On April 10, 2002 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On April 25, 2002 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 2, 2002 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (3799) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on May 17, 2002, making it Chapter 254 of the session laws. It took effect on July 1, 2002.
