The Story
It was introduced on June 26, 2001 and referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held public hearings on January 22, 2002 and February 5, 2002. The committee held a work session on February 19, 2002. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 11–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 6, 2002 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on March 14, 2002 and was referred to the Senate Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 27, 2002. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 10, 2002 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading.
