The Story

It was introduced on June 26, 2001 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 30, 2002. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 12–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 14, 2002 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on February 20, 2002 and was referred to the Senate Public Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 19, 2002. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 16, 2002 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading.
