The Story

It was introduced on February 1, 2001 and referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 14, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 0187). On February 22, 2001 the Senate rejected a motion to lay it on the table. On February 22, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On February 22, 2001 the Senate adopted “Roll Call” and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 29, 2001 and was referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 2, 2001. The committee held work sessions on May 15, 2001 and May 22, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on June 7, 2001. On June 7, 2001 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On June 12, 2001 the Senate adopted “Sen. Prescott Concur with House Amendment” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 26, 2001 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor.
