SB 157 (2001)
relative to state government information dissemination and access.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2001-2002
- House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
- Senate committee: Internal Affairs
- Subject: Miscellaneous
- Chapter law: 281
The Story
It was introduced on February 22, 2001 and referred to the Senate Internal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 20, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 29, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 29, 2001 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2001. The committee held a work session on May 8, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 24, 2001 the House voted to pass it with changes. On June 12, 2001 the Senate adopted “Sen. Flanders Concur with House Amendment” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 26, 2001 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1751) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 16, 2001, making it Chapter 281 of the session laws. It took effect on September 14, 2001.
