HCR 5 (2001)

urging the federal government to consider the impacts on New Hampshire and the smaller states of interstate waste legislation.

  • Status: Adopted by both chambers
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs
  • Senate committee: Environment
  • Subject: State Government

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2001 and referred to the House State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 30, 2001. The committee held a work session on February 13, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 16–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 8, 2001 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 29, 2001 and was referred to the Senate Environment committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 11, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 1269). On May 24, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 31, 2001 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 13, 2001 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1562) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage.
