HCR 2 (2001)

urging the federal government to establish a new zip code for the town of Kensington.

  • Status: Adopted by both chambers
  • Term: 2001-2002
  • House committee: State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs
  • Senate committee: Internal Affairs
  • Subject: State Government

The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2001 and referred to the House State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 11, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 25, 2001 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 22, 2001 and was referred to the Senate Internal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 20, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 29, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on April 5, 2001 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (0736) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage.
