The Story

It was introduced on January 25, 2001 and referred to the House Judiciary committee. The committee held public hearings on February 13, 2001 and February 21, 2001. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 12–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 17, 2001 the House voted to kill it.
