HB 332-FN-LOCAL (2001)
relative to resuscitation protocols for emergency medical care providers.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2001-2002
- House committee: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs
- Senate committee: Public Institutions, Health and Human Services
- Subject: Public and Mental Health
- Chapter law: 236
The Story
It was introduced on January 25, 2001 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 6, 2001. The committee held a work session on February 8, 2001. The majority recommended that the House pass it with changes, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 9–6. On March 22, 2001 the House voted to pass it with changes on a division vote 239–83. It crossed to the Senate on March 29, 2001 and was referred to the Senate Public Institutions, Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 8, 2001. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 1369). On May 31, 2001 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 7, 2001 the House voted to reject the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. On June 7, 2001 the Senate adopted “Sen. Wheeler Accede to House Request for Committee of Conference” on a voice vote. A committee of conference met on June 19, 2001 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill. On June 26, 2001 the Senate adopted “Conference Committee Report” on a voice vote. On June 26, 2001 the House adopted “Conf Comm Report”. The bill was enrolled on June 26, 2001 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1874) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 13, 2001, making it Chapter 236 of the session laws. It took effect on September 11, 2001.
