The Story
It was introduced on January 3, 2001 and referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 17, 2001. The committee held work sessions on January 23, 2001, January 30, 2001, February 6, 2001 and February 13, 2001. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 5, 2001 the House voted to kill it.
