SB 393 (2000)

relative to single producer licensing.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1999-2000
  • House committee: Commerce
  • Senate committee: Insurance
  • Subject: Insurance
  • Chapter law: 315

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2000 and referred to the Senate Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 8, 2000. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 3592). On March 9, 2000 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 9, 2000 and was referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 4, 2000. The committee held a work session on May 9, 2000. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on May 17, 2000. On May 17, 2000 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 18, 2000 the Senate adopted “Sen. Wheeler Concur With House Amendment” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 31, 2000 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (4765) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 21, 2000, making it Chapter 315 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 2001.
