SB 333 (2000)

relative to signs for churches.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1999-2000
  • House committee: Public Works and Highways
  • Senate committee: Transportation
  • Subject: Transportation and Highways
  • Chapter law: 65

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2000 and referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 11, 2000. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 3062). On February 3, 2000 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 10, 2000 and was referred to the House Public Works and Highways committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 15, 2000. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 29, 2000 the House voted to pass it. The bill was enrolled on April 6, 2000 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 17, 2000, making it Chapter 65 of the session laws. It took effect on June 16, 2000.
