The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2000 and referred to the Senate Public Institutions, Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 22, 2000. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 3829). On March 23, 2000 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 23, 2000 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held work sessions on April 18, 2000, April 25, 2000 and May 3, 2000. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 17, 2000 the House voted to pass it with changes. On May 18, 2000 the Senate adopted “Sen. Squires Motion Reconsideration” on a voice vote. On May 18, 2000 the Senate adopted “Request C of C” on a voice vote. On May 18, 2000 the House adopted “House Acceded to req for Conf Comm”. On May 31, 2000 the House adopted “Conf Comm Report”.
