The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 1999 and referred to the House Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 26, 1999. The majority of the committee recommended that the House send it back to committee unanimously, 19–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 10, 1999 the bill was referred to the Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held work sessions on April 21, 1999, May 12, 1999, June 23, 1999, September 15, 1999 and September 29, 1999. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends unanimously, 13–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 5, 2000 the House voted to study it after the session ends. The committee held a work session on June 28, 2000. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “NOT REC FOR LEGIS IN 2001”, by a vote of 15 to 0.
