The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 2000 and referred to the House Children and Family Law committee. The committee held public hearings on January 12, 2000, January 26, 2000 and February 9, 2000. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 11–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 17, 2000 the House voted to kill it.
