HB 1210-LOCAL (2000)

relative to capital reserve funds.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1999-2000
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public Affairs
  • Subject: Municipalities
  • Chapter law: 224

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2000 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 19, 2000. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 23, 2000 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 23, 2000 and was referred to the Senate Capital Budget committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 10, 2000. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 18, 2000 the Senate adopted “Committee Report Ought to Pass” on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 18, 2000 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (4619) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 1, 2000, making it Chapter 224 of the session laws. It took effect on July 31, 2000.
