SB 74 (1999)

relative to the rulemaking authority of the real estate commission concerning practices relating to certain dwellings.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1999-2000
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Occupational Regulation
  • Chapter law: 179

The Story

It was introduced on January 28, 1999 and referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 16, 1999. The committee voted unanimously, 7–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it. On February 18, 1999 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 25, 1999 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 13, 1999. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it by a vote of 13–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on June 16, 1999. On June 16, 1999 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 1999 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 1, 1999, making it Chapter 179 of the session laws. It took effect on August 30, 1999.
