SB 230 (1999)

relative to interstate school districts.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1999-2000
  • House committee: Education
  • Senate committee: Education
  • Subject: Education - General
  • Chapter law: 224

The Story

It was introduced on April 14, 1999 and referred to the Senate Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 28, 1999. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 6, 1999 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 18, 1999. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On June 22, 1999 the House voted to pass it. The bill was enrolled on July 1, 1999 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 6, 1999, making it Chapter 224 of the session laws. It took effect on September 4, 1999.
