The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 1999 and referred to the House Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 1999. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 16–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 10, 1999 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on February 11, 1999 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 1999. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 30, 1999 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading.
