HB 60 (1999)

relative to meetings of the ballot law commission.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1999-2000
  • House committee: Election Law
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Elections
  • Chapter law: 84

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 1999 and referred to the House Election Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 14, 1999. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 16–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 10, 1999 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on February 11, 1999 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 23, 1999. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 20, 1999 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 27, 1999 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 3, 1999, making it Chapter 84 of the session laws. It took effect on August 2, 1999.
