The Story

On May 20, 1999 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on May 27, 1999 and was referred to the Senate Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on June 16, 1999. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On June 24, 1999 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote.
