The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 1999 and referred to the House Election Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 9, 1999. The majority recommended that the House kill it, and the minority recommended that the House pass it, by a vote of 12–5. On May 25, 1999 the House voted to kill it on a roll call 185–142.
