The Story
It was introduced on January 7, 1998 and referred to the Senate Public Institutions, Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 10, 1998. On April 2, 1998 the Senate voted to pass it with changes, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee voted unanimously, 7–0, to recommend that the Senate kill it. On May 14, 1998 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
