SB 100-FN (1998)

establishing a New Hampshire film and television commission.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1997-1998
  • House committee: Commerce
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 179

The Story

It was introduced on January 9, 1997 and referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 23, 1997. The committee voted unanimously, 8–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 6, 1997 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 12, 1997 and was referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 3, 1997. The committee held a work session on May 13, 1997. The majority of the committee recommended that the House send it back to committee unanimously, 13–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 20, 1997 the bill was referred to the Commerce committee. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 12–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 7, 1998 the House voted to pass it with changes as part of its consent calendar, which it adopted on a roll call 248–8. On May 14, 1998 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment () was adopted on May 20, 1998. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 4, 1998 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1853) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 15, 1998, making it Chapter 179 of the session laws. It took effect on August 14, 1998.
