The Story
It was introduced on January 9, 1997 and referred to the House Local and Regulated Revenues committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 11, 1997. The majority of the committee recommended that the House send it back to committee by a vote of 11–3. On March 18, 1997 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/19/1997”. On March 19, 1997 the bill was referred to the Local and Regulated Revenues committee. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 12–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 7, 1998 the House voted to kill it as part of its consent calendar, which it adopted on a roll call 248–8.
